Operator App

As opposed to a customer facing app, this is the app that the Dropless operators use to see what jobs they have in their calendar and update job statuses as they work on the cars (think Uber driver app rather than passenger app).

Prior to this project there was no operator app, they were using a back office web solution (that was a UX nightmare!). So the goal of this app was to deliver the essential features needed to boost operator happiness, productivity and efficiency, as well as deliver some major back office operational efficiencies too.

My Role

I led all of the design for this, working closely with the developers and project manager.

Prototyping

I’ve used a lot of different prototyping tools (I love a prototype!) at varying fidelities but for this project I tried out Origami for the first time. As there was no pre-existing product for stakeholders to compare with, I felt there was a lot of value in being able to provide them with this example prototype showing all the possibilities before we even started development.

Conceptualising

This was a completely new product for Dropless so there was a lot of back and forth early on as we worked together with Operators and other stakeholders to iron out all the details of what was needed for MVP.

User Tests

As of right now I haven’t been able to get the resources to run these tests but I have put together a full plan of what is intended - being a one man UX team has some downsides!
